Dunbar Battery has always been an open space for all to enjoy. It remains so. There may be a few occasions each year when it will be closed off for private events but for most of the year Dunbar Battery will remain open for those who enjoy a stroll into what has always been a spectacular site with wonderful views. Everyone is asked to take responsibility for their own safety – it is an old historic site perched on the edge of the North Sea. When the weather is wild the bridge will be closed and access to Dunbar Battery denied. Waves crash over the North Wall in such conditions endangering lives. Visitors are also respectfully asked to remove all waste after their visit so that others can enjoy a litter-free Dunbar Battery.
