Who worked on the Dunbar Battery improvement project?

East Lothian’s G Brown Stonemason Ltd undertook the consolidation work and repair to the Battery building. Graeme Brown was the lead contractor for the project.

Dunbar’s own A G Thomson completed the initial site clearance which revealed several features of historic interest.

AOC provided the archaeologist who meticulously recorded all of the findings as the project advanced.

B & K Hume Groundworks Ltd of Duns undertook all of the laying of the concrete and the preparation of the Coastal Garden

R&F Joinery of Macmerry produced the spectacular amphitheatre, the door to the vaults and all the large oak pieces around the stage and the coastal garden.

The Sea Cubes were designed and produced by Scotland’s eminent artist Donald Urquart.

Gardner Molloy of Cockenzie carved all of the stone interpretation panels. He also created the statue of the Creel Loaders which stand on Victoria Street, carved the poem in the pavement at the Victoria Street interpretation panels and carved the inscription on the High Street outside the John Muir Birthplace.
