The Three Craws

On this Summer Solstice, there will be a performance of ‘The Three Craws An The Mysterious Licht At Sunny Dunbar’. The play was first performed by the troupe ‘The Three Craws’ as a rehearsed reading during Dunbar’s Coastword Festival in May 2015. The script is the eleventh in a series of plays inspired by the characters in the traditional Scots ditty ‘Three Craws Sat Upon A Wa’ and was written as a nod to the International Year of Light in 2015.

In the story, The Three Craws are discussing light and the different forms of it. They discuss Dunbar, a coastal town in East Lothian affectionately known as ‘Sunny Dunny’. Craw Two has never heard of the town, so his friends decide they must make a visit there. They fly from their perch on Edinburgh Castle wall to Dunbar that enjoys its own castle, a special natural light, sea views, horizons, a lighthouse, water sports, rich history, and much more. Some images used in the play are by local photographers.

Come and take a fun tour of Dunbar Harbour through the eyes of the Craws. Rita Bradd will introduce the performance with a poem for Dunbar. Overall performance time including songs, approximately 35 minutes.

With thanks to Dunbar Rotary for their donation for props, and to Dunbar T-Shirt Shop for the outfits.

Free performance.
